Dictionary of Nomenclature of Celestial Objects

Survey obtained near and far-IR imaging of a part of the nearby dark cloud L1228 and an unfilled raster of regions in and near the galactic plane at three galactic longitudes. The purpose of the survey was to characterize the IR sky at flux sensitivity levels much deeper than previous wide area surveys at these wavelengths for regions which were likely to be affected by crowding and by bright, spatially variable diffuse emission, and to provide these data to the community as rapidly as possible. The Spitzer Science Center will create a source list from these data, and that source list will be presented in a paper in a refereed journal. The data have been obtained, but the data are still being analysed at the present time. A URL describing the Galactic First Look Survey can be found at: http://ssc.spitzer.caltech.edu/fls/galac/.
