The linear polarization of quasi-stellar radio sources at 3.71 and 11.1 centimeters.

WARDLE J.F.C. and KRONBERG P.P.

Abstract (from CDS):

Accurate measurements of the integrated linear polarization of 94 quasars at λ = 11.1 cm and 79 quasars at λ = 3.71 cm are presented. The observations were made with an interferometer in order to reduce the effects of confusion and ground radiation. The results are discussed briefly and a detailed discussion will be given elsewhere. It is found that nearly all sources showing negative depolarization also have flat spectra. The most strongly polarized sources (especially at 3.7 cm) tend to be steep-spectrum and high-luminosity objects.
