Supernova 2004A in NGC 6207.

KAWAKITA H., KINUGASA K., AYANI K. and YAMAOKA H.

Abstract (from CDS):

H. Kawakita and K. Kinugasa, Gunma Astronomical Observatory; K. Ayani, Bisei Astronomical Observatory; and H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, write: "Optical spectra of SN 2004A (cf. IAUC 8265), obtained with the Gunma 0.65-m telescope (+ GCS) on Jan. 11.8 UT and with the Bisei 1.01-m telescope on Jan. 11.9, show a blue continuum and the hydrogen Balmer lines with P-Cyg profiles. The emission components are somewhat weak. These features suggest that it is a young type-II supernova. The expansion velocity, measured from the absorption minuma of the Balmer lines, is about 12000 km/s."
