Forty years of spectroscopic stellar astrophysics in Japan.

SADAKANE K., HIRATA R. and TSUJI T.

Abstract (from CDS):

begin{HTML} The development of Japanese spectroscopic stellar astrophysics in the recent 40 years is reviewed from an observational point of view. In this article, the research activities are provisionally divided into four fields: hot stars, hot emission-line (Be) stars, cool stars, and other stars. Historical developments of the observational facilities at Okayama Astrophysical Observatory (spectrographs and detectors) are also summarized in connection with the progress in scientific research activities.
