SIMBAD references

Pignata, Universidad Andres Bello; B. Conuel, Wesleyan University; and D. Reichart, K. Ivarsen, J. Haislip, A. Crain, D. Foster, M. Nysewander, and A. LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on behalf of the CHASE project, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 18.3 ± 0.4) on an unfiltered image taken on Dec. 23.30 UT with the 0.41-m 'PROMPT 5' telescope located at Cerro Tololo. The new object, which is also present in an image taken on Dec. 24.10 at mag approximately 17.9, is located at R.A. = 09:47:14.96 ± 0".1, Decl. = -24:51:18.8 ± 0".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 22".2 east and 56".8 south of the center of the galaxy ESO 499-5. Nothing is visible at this position in a stack of nineteen 40-s archival images taken with the same instrument between 2008 Oct. 13.4 and 2009 May 5.0 (limiting mag 20.5). M. Stritzinger, Las Campanas Observatory; G. Folatelli, Universidad de Chile; and G. Pignata, Universidad Andres Bello, on behalf of the Millennium Center for Supernova Science, report that an optical spectrum of 2009mw, obtained on Dec. 25.2 UT with the Gemini telescope (+ GMOS), reveals that it is a type-IIP supernova around a month past explosion.
