Abstract (from CDS):
L. Magill, D. Wright, and R. Kotak, Queen's University, Belfast, report that optical spectroscopy (range 360-1000 nm) of 2012bf was obtained at the Isaac Newton Telescope (+ IDS) by H. Ledo on Mar. 15.21 UT and was cross- correlated with a library of supernova spectra using the SNID software, showing 2012bf to be a type-Ia supernova. The best fit was with the normal type-Ia supernova 2004eo (Mazzali et al. 2008, MNRAS 386, 1897) at an epoch of 12-14 days. Fitting with SNID yielded a redshift of 0.07.
