Follow-up photometry of six new βCephei stars discovered from the HIPPARCOS mission.

AERTS C.

Abstract (from CDS):

We present ground-based follow-up photometry in the Geneva seven-colour photometric system of six new candidate βCep stars. The variability of these objects was originally found from the HIPPARCOS mission. From the new data we are able to confirm their βCep-type nature, to detect the pulsational frequencies and to identify most of the degrees of the pulsation modes. All six stars turn out to have frequencies in the expected range for βCep stars and the degrees of the main mode range from l=0 up to l=2, which is compatible with theoretical expectations.
