Abstract (from CDS):

We report the discovery of a very faint emission nebula from Hα+[NII], and [OIII] interference filter CCD images. The nebula G4.4+6.4 is located towards a very dense region of the Galaxy with relatively low extinction. The asymmetric, and mildly structured but still round morphology revealed in the Hα+[NII] images, the fainter, but less extended and towards the center confined [OIII] emission, as well as the weak radio emission, suggest that the newly discovered nebulosity is probably a Planetary Nebula at its late stage of evolution. Using the nebular radio flux we estimated a distance of 0.87kpc while using the optical data we derived a lower distance limit of 0.52kpc.
