The binary, (triple?) star cluster NGC 2136/37 in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

HILKER M., RICHTLER T. and STEIN D.

Abstract (from CDS):

We present Stroemgren CCD photometry for the binary cluster NGC 2136/37 in the LMC and for its neighbouring field population. The common origin of NGC 2136 and 2137 is supported not only by their identical ages, but also by their common Stroemgren metallicity of -0.55dex. A third cluster may also have a common origin with NGC 2136/37, indicated by the fact that the three clusters are connected by regions of enhanced star densities. No counterpart of such a configuration has yet been found in the Milky Way.
