Near-infrared photometry of the final helium shell object V4334 Sagittarii.

KAMATH U.S. and ASHOK N.M.

Abstract (from CDS):

JHKphotometry of the final helium shell flash object V4334 Sagittarii undertaken during 1996–97 is presented in this paper. The data reveal the formation of circumstellar dust of temperature ∼ 1800 K two years after outburst. Around 5x10–10 M of dust condensed at a distance of about 7 R* from the star. The mass of V4334 Sgr is 0.8 M and it had a radius of ∼ 70 R. in 1997 April–May.
