Parsec-scale outflows from intermediate- mass sources and classical T Tauri stars.

Abstract (from CDS):

We have examined the occurrence of parsec-scale outflows from intermediate-mass young stellar objects and from low-mass classical T Tauri stars. In the case of the intermediate-mass objects large-scale bipolar optical outflows, ranging from 2.5 pc to 8 pc, were discovered from LkHα198, 1548C27IRS1, IRAS19395+2313, LkHα233 and LkHα234. They have similar apparent lengths and degrees of collimation as those from low-mass embedded young stars. The T Tauri stars (Class II) observed were known to drive so-called ``micro-jets'' or small scale outflows with lengths of ≤ 1'. We find that the outflows from CW Tau, DG Tau, DO Tau and RW Aur are of the order of 1 pc (∼24' for Taurus-Auriga) and show similar features to those from more embedded Class I sources.
