Abstract (from CDS):

The supernova was independently discovered by Berto Monard (Bronberg Observatory, Pretoria, South Africa) on a stack of four CCD images obtained on July 17.862 UT. Monard gives the unfiltered magnitude as 15.4 (± 0.1) and position end figures 44s.32, 23".2 (2" west and 13" south of the core of NGC 7083; UCAC2). Nothing was visible at the object's position on June 20.031 (limiting magnitude 18.7).
