Abstract (from CDS):

Natural radiative lifetimes for 60 excited levels of La I and La II were measured using time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy in laser-induced plasma. The lifetimes of 40 excited levels of La I, in the energy range from 24 507.87 to 52 030.4/cm, and 20 levels of La II, from 26 414.01 to 56 035.70/cm, were measured in this work. The results of lifetimes range from 4.2 to 330 ns with the uncertainties within 10 percent. To our best knowledge, 34 lifetimes of La I and 17 lifetimes of La II are reported for the first time.
